About

This Is For (You) was an interactive arts collaboration involving seven different artists, with the intent to explore the relationship between strangers through an exchange. We hoped to breach some sort of social barrier between people that wouldn’t normally be crossed in a typical public setting. Each artist created two pieces of art over the span of two weeks with the notion that it would be given away to the public during the first exhibition. In return, the audience members had the choice of giving anything back that they deemed to be of equal value to the art piece received. We held our initial trade at the Fremont Sunday Market, identifying it as a thriving public setting with an atmosphere conducive for the project. This second exhibition was created out of the items attained during that initial exchange.
